Owner's notes

"I purchased the boat in the Autumn of 2009 with the ultimate goal of taking part in the Jester challenge single handed transatlantic race/rally. I had previously completed the Jester Azores and back singlehanded in 2008.

The original owner had completed the boat from a full hunter kit, to a good standard with many additional lockers and storage ideas.

The boat has all lines led aft and has an amazing angle of vanishing stability meaning it would not stay inverted if rolled. I had new upgraded rigging fitted in early 2010 and various electronic and safety upgrades fitted before relaunching in the water in Southampton in the spring of 2010.

During the last 12 years she has been upgraded to make her more seaworthy including refastening the saloon windows with captive fastenings and new seals in place of standard self tapping screws. The front hatch was also exchanged for an ocean version in lieu of the coastal version fitted. New sails have been added and genoa tracks and winches added to improve performance. The self tacker is very efficient in close quarters and the boat points as high a fin keeler with this sail. The Genoa is obviously better for longer journeys and poled out is an acceptable down wind sail. The asymmetric has a quick release tack to aid recovery from the cockpit, and the main is fitted with a downhaul for quick drop.

The boat has only been lightly used in the last 12 years with only 4 seasons in the water and always wintered ashore. This was largely due to medical problems and the purchase of a motor boat.

Now its time to sell the boat so that I can concentrate on motor boating as medical reasons prevent any more long distance single handed sailing.

You will probably have to go a very long way to find a boat with this much equipment included, and all it needs are the sails hoisted and she is ready to go"
